Armenia’s government targets at least 800 MW of electricity storage by 2031. NESS develops grid scale battery storage to close the gap between midday solar output and the power the grid can hold and dispatch.
NESS stands for New Energy Storage Solutions. It is a Karensi Power company built around one gap: the power Armenia generates and the power its grid can hold and dispatch when it is needed. Solar output peaks at midday, while demand continues after dark. NESS develops grid scale battery storage that carries midday energy into the evening.
Armenia’s installed solar capacity reached about 1,253 MW on 1 September 2026. On sunny days the midday surplus already forces thermal plants, at times the nuclear plant, to cut output. The regulator names storage as the long term answer. The government program targets at least 800 MW of storage by 2031.
Law HO-228-N, adopted on 11 May 2026, takes effect on 4 December 2026 and makes energy storage a licensed activity in Armenia. As of October 2026 the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) is preparing the secondary rules with European experts: the licensing procedure, market rules and grid codes. NESS has about 300 MWh across three projects in development, each structured for this framework.
We structure each project to fit Armenia’s storage licensing framework and its financing requirements. The regulatory and financing work runs alongside development rather than after it.
We originate and develop grid scale battery storage projects across Armenia. Each one runs from site identification through grid interconnection.
We manage permitting, procurement and construction locally. Our accountability for the asset continues once it delivers power to the grid.
